What will an IBM purchase of Sun Microsystems mean to the ASCDI? Is it good for the industry? Is it good for Sun dealers? Is it good for IBM dealers? Will the Sun second user policy change? What other companies are now on the trading block due to collapsed share prices? And, how does the ASCDI fit in to all of this?

The Meeting Notes did not reflect Mr. Klein's personal opinion because the Meeting Notes are designed not to reflect anyone's opinions but rather to report all decisions and action items of the Committee.
No vote was taken on this issue and therefore the use of the words "wide scale" is misleading. Without taking a vote, there is no way to measure the Committee's opinion on this issue. As a matter of fact, I and the Committee members whom I spoke to about the speak.....

The posted meeting minutes do not reflect that it was reported that there was wide-scale dissatisfaction with William Roach the Keynote speaker from IDC who addressed the ASCDI in Las Vegas. This is the second time Mr. Roach addressed an ASCDI convention and both times he has generated a fair amount of complaints. Most often cited where his elitist comments when referring to subordinates and his rambling homilies without making a point. Several committee members suggested that both the speaker a.....
